Catskills Mountains Scene. I hoped to convey tranquility and serenity that this area seems to represent by restricting my palette and focusing on complementary colors rather than detail.

Local Myrtle Beach Accomplished Artist Phil Burton, Bio of Phil Burton I have always had an interest in the expression of Art; oil is my medium of choice. Although I think in terms of freedom and artistic license; I adhere to a limited palette as a challenge to color mixture and purity of color, (I basically use the same color palette for all paintings). I subscribe to the color theory of Earth, Water, Air and Fire as inspiration in my paintings. I have no formal training I am developing I surmise, my own style and feel.
