Atalaya, was the winter home of Archer M. Huntington and his wife, sculptor Anna Hyatt Huntington. Atalaya which means "watchtower" in Spanish was modeled in the style of the Moorish architecture of the Spanish Mediterranean coast. Located at the Huntington Beach State Park, just south of Myrtle Beach. Done in "Plein Air" style from a sketches and photograph I recently took.

Although I think in terms of freedom and artistic license; I adhere to a limited palette as a challenge to color mixture and purity of color, (I basically use the same color palette for all paintings).
